Crack defection detector
Egypt
The industrial sector is a significant growth driver having strong backward and forward linkages. This sector is bound to become the driver for increasing growth rates, generating sufficient employment opportunities, and fostering Egypt’s integration into the global economy. One of the significant industries and the fastest-growing sectors in Egypt is the manufactory of ceramic tiles. For reducing ceramic tiles manufacturing cost and increasing production quality, An Artificial intelligent defection detector was chosen to detect ceramic tiles cracks. By converting the tiles’ image into RGB channels, separating them, and removing the noise, a clear path of the crack will be detected. Besides, an Alert message will be sent to the user to indicate the tile’s defection. Specific design requirements were chosen precisely, and they were met successfully as the accuracy was 96.84%, the precision was 98.24%, and the recall was 94.98 %. This project is an alternative for factory workers in the evaluation section to decline the evaluation process cost. Furthermore, the crack detector works on a small-scale detection by dividing the image into 256X256 matrix for accurate clarification. Consequently, small defects are represented precisely and free of random errors compared with the factory workers who might not see any defection in the tiles meeting the project aim.
